First National helps introduce kids to golf
posted 10/20/2009

First National Bank of HoldregeGolf is a game of skill and etiquette that are both equally important. Introducing young people to golf at an early age allows them to learn etiquette that can help them in other aspects of their lives, as well as the basic skills to help them play this ancient and pleasurable sport.

This year, the Holdrege Country Club hosted Youth Golf for boys and girls in the third through eighth grades. The five week course was taught by volunteers and staff at the Holdrege Country Club and ended July 1.

First National Bank was a key sponsor of the program, which was also supported by Family Medical Specialties, the Graphic Arts Shop, Golf USA, Johnson Insurance, Holdrege Market Place and Two Rivers Public Health.

Shown here are participants in the program.

First National Bank of HoldregeIndependence Day is one of the year’s most important holidays. It marks the birth of the United States as an independent nation and commemorates the courage and vision of our founding fathers.

In Holdrege, the day is marked by many celebrations, both public and private, but always culminates in an inspiring fireworks display following the annual Legion baseball game — a display that often rivals those put on by much larger cities.

For many years, including 2009, the drive to raise funds for the fireworks show has been led by Dr. Richard Reiner and his wife, Lori. This year, First National Bank of Holdrege launched its own internal drive to raise funds for this important event. FNB employees and raised an impressive total of $537.
